2005-03-24, RecruitMilitary - Members of the U.S. armed forces serving in Iraq, Afghanistan, and around the globe will receive an extra measure of support from the home front in the months to come, thanks to an alliance forged between RecruitMilitary, LLC, a Cincinnati-based firm that helps veterans find civilian jobs, and Soldiers’ Angels Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing tangible caring support for the military.Cincinnati, OH (PRWEB) March 24, 2005 — Members of the U.S. armed forces serving in Iraq, Afghanistan, and around the globe will receive an extra measure of support from the home front in the months to come, thanks to an alliance forged between RecruitMilitary, LLC, a Cincinnati-based firm that helps veterans find civilian jobs, and Soldiers’ Angels Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing tangible caring support for the military.
"We can help substantially with this effort," said Drew Myers, president of RecruitMilitary, and a former artillery officer and recruiter in the Marine Corps. "We will make a direct contribution, but our main role will be to create an awareness of the foundation’s mission and objectives among our thousands of contacts in Corporate America." The company’s contacts include hiring managers at businesses of all sizes—from Fortune 500 firms to small, local enterprises that are little known outside their fields of endeavor.
Soldiers` Angels was founded in 2003 by Patti Patton-Bader, the mother of a soldier who was then serving in Iraq. That summer, her son wrote to her expressing concern that some soldiers did not receive any mail or support from home. As a result, she contacted a few friends and asked them to write to a soldier or two. Since then, Soldier’s Angels has grown to an Internet community—at www.soldiersangels.org—with thousands of participants, including businesses that donate money, services, and items for packages for members of all branches of the armed forces. The foundation also supports wounded servicemen and women with personal visits and phone calls, and sends thanks via letters and e-mail to the military of other coalition nations in Iraq.
RecruitMilitary, founded in 1998, helps find civilian jobs for men and women who are transitioning out of the armed forces, military veterans with varying amounts of business experience, members of the reserve forces and National Guard, and military spouses. The company offers contingency recruiting services, filling corporate job openings for a fee; hosts electronic job postings on its Website, www.recruitmilitary.com; and offers employers subscriptions entitling them to search its database of over 74,000 registered job candidates.
